Why study at Reading – there is a really useful page that sets out the main benefits of studying at Reading.

Our main Whiteknights campus is set in 130 hectares of beautiful parkland. This is the heart of university life and provides a special sense of community. With its green open spaces, lake, rare trees and wildlife it is an exceptional environment in which to study, live and relax. Everything you need is here or within walking distance.

The University halls are set around the main campus, and so are just a few minutes walk or bike ride from the SportsPark, one of the main training areas for the rowing squads.

The Union operates several bars and shops on campus, as well as a nightclub, which all provide space for students to relax, socialise and take some time out from training and studying.

Situated in the Royal County of Berkshire, Reading and its surrounds offer students a wonderfully diverse and vibrant place to live with easy access to London and the stunning southern counties of England. Reading is a leading shopping destination and a hub for successful international companies at the heart of the Thames Valley.

The University Boathouse is just a 10-15 minute bike ride from Campus, and allows training for the regular training demanded by the sport, and we are ideally located for the GB lake at Caversham, Dorney (the 2012 Olympic lake), and Henley which plays host to the famous summer Regatta.

The University hosts a number of open days through the year. These days will give you the opportunity to look around the University and its facilities as well as finding out about the courses you are interested in. To arrange a specific visit to the Boathouse to meet with the Director of Rowing and see the facilities please email us and we’ll arrange it for you.

Facebook is a great way to stay in updated with all the information you might need as a prospective student, and to ask any questions you might have, so like our facebook page.

We look forward to welcoming you to Reading.
