RUBC

Welcome

Reading University is one of the top universities in British Rowing. We cater
for all abilities from absolute novices to top Olympic athletes, achieving success
at all levels. The RUBC boathouses, located on the Thames just below Caversham
Bridge, provide excellent facilities that encourage students to fulfil their
ambition/potential.

The Boat Club is the University\'s most successful sports club and enjoys some
of the best facilities and support on offer along with successful programs and
vibrant social life!

Experienced Rowers: Those who have rowed before are sure to enjoy life at RUBC.
We cater for all levels of experience, from last year\'s novices to former junior
internationals and U23 trialists. With both strong lightweight and heavyweight
squads. We have strong hopes for the coming season and hope you will join us
in our successes. Please feel free to get in touch before hand using the details
below; our existing senior members will be ready training before fresher\'s week.

Novice Rowing: As with previous years, we will be running a \'taster\' programme
during the Autumn term to let new beginner members experience rowing and life
at the boat club without making a year-long commitment. Our programme will let
you experience all types of racing and aims to create well rounded oarspersons
who enjoy their time with the club. Novices are the lifeblood of the club, with
many rising through the club ranks during the time at Reading to make top crews.
We hope to build on our success with last year\'s novices who achieved medals
at BUCS events and raced well at numerous regattas around the country; some
even attended Henley Royal Regatta and won races at Henley Women\'s regatta!

Coxes: Coxes are vital to the success of the boat club, steering and commanding
crews to race victories and daily during training sessions on the Thames. We
welcome all those interested in coxing at the club, no experience is necessary
either as we will give you all the training you need. So if you fancy being
part of the club and enjoying rowing without so much of the hard work, we would
love to hear from you.
