About RUBC
Reading University Boat Club is one of the highest achieving clubs at the University and enjoys some of the best facilities and support on offer. Although a serious and committed club, there is an extremely friendly atmosphere. From complete novice to Great Britain trialist, RUBC offers you the opportunity to fulfil your potential.
Boathouse
The RUBC boathouse sits on an undisrupted 6km stretch of the River Thames in Caversham, Reading. We have an extensive fleet of boats, consisting of Olympic-standard racing shells for every boat type – men and women, heavyweight and lightweight. We currently have 10 quads, 16 doubles, and 8 singles (alongside 22 private boats), allowing us to provide top-quality training and racing shells for our athletes, to ensure crews have every advantage possible.
Rowing machines
We have a second boathouse on site which has recently been converted into a erg-shed, housing around 20 rowing machines, as well as wattbikes and static bikes. Students also have access to the University SportsPark fitness studio on campus.
Weights facilities
Also located at the boathouse, RUBC offers a fully kitted out strength & conditioning facility – along with a dedicated S&C coach – to help the student athletes make every improvement possible.
