GB February trials 🥇
RUBC had 10 athletes attend the February Assessments in Boston this weekend. With November trials cancelled, this was the first opportunity for the athletes to test themselves on the water in the trial process.
Most notably, RUBC impressively had all three of our Women’s U23 1x’s finishing in the top 5, with Ellie Cooke taking the U23 victory and finishing 4th overall. Completing the top 5, Zara Povey finished 3rd and Finnola Stratton recovered well from some obstacles on the course to finish in 5th position. Zara also ranked 1st in the U21 category.
In the Men’s U23 1x category, Matt Long finished as the 6th U23 and was a strong 2nd in the U21 age group. The rest of our Men’s squad all rowed well and achieved positive results across the board, with it being a first experience at U23 level for many of the athletes.
