Triumph at Head of the Charles!

It’s been an exciting and successful weekend for RUBC after sending four of our athletes along with coach Charlotte Taylor to Boston (USA) to race in the Champ doubles at Head of the Charles 2019. 

RESULTS:

• 2nd Place- George Lawton and Rory Harris *COLLEGE DOUBLE WINNERS*

• 9th Place- Edoardo Marshall and Sean O’Mahony

Both teams seamlessly tackled the infamously tricky 4.8km course from the start at Boston University Boathouse, right through to the finish at the FALS. With Sean and Rory in bow, both teams expertly steered the challenging bends of the Eliot and Weeks bridges, where collisions occur more frequently than any other part of the course. We’re super excited to see the boys finishing in such good times, with George and Rory finishing as the fastest university double! 

Here at RUBC we’re extremely proud of the boys, and can’t wait to welcome them back to the UK next week. A special thank you to Charlie for accompanying them to Boston and cheering them on!
