Week 4 - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

🌍 Round the World 🌍

This week saw us leave Kodiyakarai on Monday morning, and fittingly we’ve spent the whole week mostly rowing across the Bay of Bengal, part of the Indian Ocean. We’re excited to see that the Bay of Bengal is full of interesting species of fish 🎣 🐠 including Marlin and Barracuda.

Towards the end of the week we entered the Malacca Straight which is a shipping channel between the Indian and Pacific oceans to the south of Malaysia. We docked in Singapore late on Friday, and have travelled north though the Gulf of Thailand and we have finished in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) in Vietnam. Many of you will know of the city through learning about the Vietnam War between North and South Vietnam between 1955 and 1975.

Nowadays the city is tourist hotspot, and most of their income comes from foreign travellers. It’s hot there in the day now (37 degrees! ☀️) and it looks pretty nice! https://goo.gl/maps/YzeXPNR9fWByH14H8 - check it out.

Well done on another good week, keep in touch and there’ll be another Round the World update next week 💜
